How to season precooked pinsa? 4 suggestions from the professionals

We created Nuvola with the precise intention of mixing the convenience of the pre-cooked product with the authentic flavour of artisanal Roman pinsa.

Nuvola is available anywhere in supermarkets and can be easily stored in the fridge between 0° and 4° or at room temperature if you choose the new Nuvola Ambient. With a quick and easy preparation, it only takes 5 minutes in the oven at 250°C to enjoy a pinsa fragrant and light as if freshly baked.

How to season pre-cooked pinsa? Don’t be afraid to dare

At a restaurant, or at our favourite bar, we can choose from a wide selection of combinations that not only stimulate the appetite, but also evoke pleasant taste memories. Although the quality and interpretation of a certain type of dish may vary from place to place, we know clearly what we will get when we order a quattro stagioni pizza, a capricciosa or, to go classic, a margherita

But when we are at home, how do we enhance the qualities of our pre-cooked Nuvola? Do we go classic, or should we dare more? How can we best season it? The risk is falling into the trap of the ‘usual combination’, the one already made a hundred times, which, however excellent, limits our creativity and ability to experiment with flavours and combinations. In other words, the fear of making mistakes can limit us to the usual flavours, preventing us from innovating. But pinsa is innovation right from its start.

A pinseria at home

The success of pinsa on the market shows that people appreciate its characteristics, such as its greater digestibility and lightness compared to pizza. It would be a shame if, for fear of making a mistake, it were not enjoyed to the fullest and did not achieve the success it deserves.

So, what can be done? We could come up with an infinite number of recipes and winning combinations for Nuvola, but we thought we’d take a better route: have a look at the menus of the pinserie. Why? Because proposing combinations that meet with the favour of customers is their duty, on which the success of their business depends.

We therefore examined many recipes, making a particular selection: we eliminated the ‘great classics’, but also contemporary gourmet elaborations with sophisticated and hard-to-find ingredients. We focus on the happy medium: recipes that work, that cannot be found in every pizzeria in the world and that, at the same time, can be made by anyone with their own Nuvola and without too much effort. Enjoy!

Pinsa pachino and anchovies

This tasty pinsa recipe combines the freshness of mozzarella with the sharp flavour of anchovies and the sweetness of cherry tomatoes. A touch of fresh basil makes the dish even more inviting.

Ingredients: mozzarella, Pachino cherry tomatoes, anchovies, basil.

Pinsa Cacio e Pepe

Cacio e pepe is a traditional and delicious Roman recipe, but it is rare in the pinsa universe. This makes it even more interesting to try. Mozzarella is used to adapt this dish to the pinsa base, which is obviously not in the original recipe but goes well with the intense flavour of pecorino romano cheese, creating a good balance of flavours. The result is a creamy and tasty pinsa, a new and innovative interpretation of a great classic of Italian cuisine.

Ingredients: mozzarella, pecorino romano, ground pepper

Vegan Pinsa

A delicious recipe designed for those who follow a diet free of foods of animal origin. The base is a tomato sauce enriched with bell peppers, radicchio and grilled courgettes. The magic lies in the assonance created between the sweet flavour of the peppers and the bitter taste of the radicchio, while the courgettes give the pinsa a fresh and crunchy note.

Ingredients: tomato sauce, bell peppers, radicchio, courgettes

Pinsa Parmigiana

Eggplant parmigiana is one of the tastiest and most famous traditional Italian dishes; its origins are debated between Campania, Sicily and Emilia Romagna. This revisitation of this classic aims to keep its protagonists, which are eggplants and Parmesan, but lays them on a bed of flavours composed of tomato sauce, mozzarella and basil, another perfect trio of Italian gastronomic culture.

Ingredients: tomato sauce, mozzarella, parmesan, eggplants, basil
